Who publishes PUBGSymbol

PUBGSymbol is a free library of Unicode symbols, invisible characters and styled letters for PUBG Mobile and BGMI nicknames, written by the PUBGSymbol editorial team under the team name. What can be judged is whether the characters we list are accepted by the game, and how fast a page is fixed when they are not.

PUBGSymbol has been publishing since August 2026. We give a month rather than a founding story because the month is the part that can be checked — it is when the first pages went live on this domain. A longer history would be a claim with nothing behind it, and this page is not the place to start inventing one.

What the site does

You type a name, and the site gives you stylish versions of it with decorative symbols, Unicode fonts and invisible characters, each copyable in one tap and meant to be pasted straight into the rename field in PUBG Mobile or BGMI. Everything is free, needs no account and installs nothing.

Around the tool sit write-ups that answer the part a generator cannot: which characters a name field actually accepts, why some of them break, and what the game does to a name it does not like.

How a symbol gets published

Most symbol lists online are copied from other symbol lists. That is why so many of them contain characters the game silently refuses. This is the order we work in instead:

Step What we check Why it matters
1. Source The character is a real Unicode code point, not an image and not a font file Only real text survives being copied into the game
2. Rename field The finished string is pasted into the rename box and confirmed The box rejects whole ranges without an error message; only a real attempt proves it
3. Length The result is measured against how much the field will actually take Decoration that pushes the name past the field’s limit is useless
4. Rendering The set is viewed on a phone and on a desktop browser A glyph missing from a device font shows as an empty box
5. Honesty Anything we could not verify is labelled as unverified rather than dropped or asserted A rename card is not refundable; a confident guess can cost you one

When a step fails, the character is cut or the page says plainly where it does not work. A shorter list with an honest warning beats a longer list that costs you a rename card.

Where our data comes from

PUBGSymbol works from three sources, and each one is good for a different kind of claim. Knowing which source a statement came from tells you how much weight it can carry.

Source What we take from it What it cannot settle
The Unicode Character Database What a character formally is: its code point, its general category, whether it is default-ignorable, and whether it has a decomposition that normalisation can collapse Whether any particular app or game will accept it. Unicode describes text; it does not run the rename box
The rename box itself Whether a finished string is actually accepted, how much of it fits, and what the field silently strips. This is where every list on the site is filtered Why a string was refused. The field gives no error text, so a rejection tells us the result and not the rule behind it
Announcements from the publisher The stated rules and penalties — the 90-day nickname penalty on BGMI against the 30-day maximum on international PUBG Mobile, and how Rename Cards are granted Anything the publisher has not written down. KRAFTON has never published a name-length number, so neither do we

What we deliberately do not treat as a source: other symbol sites. Copying a list forward is how a character the game stopped accepting stays in circulation for years. If a claim on this site cannot be traced to one of the three rows above, it is marked as untested rather than quietly rounded up into a fact.

Why the name box takes ༒ but refuses 😎

This is the single most useful technical fact in the whole niche, and almost nobody explains it.

The classic gaming decorations — ༒ ☬ ꧁ ꧂ ࿐ ⃝ ᭄ — all live in the Basic Multilingual Plane, which means each one is a single UTF-16 unit. Emoji live above it, so each emoji is a surrogate pair: two units. A name field that counts UTF-16 units, or that validates input one unit at a time, will happily take the first group and choke on the second. That is why the same box that accepts a fully decorated ꧁༒☬ name will reject a single smiley — it is not the game disliking emoji, it is arithmetic.

The same arithmetic explains a second thing players run into: a name that “looks short” can still be refused, because the decoration around it counts too.

Invisible characters are not all the same

Guides across the internet treat every invisible character as interchangeable. They are not, and the difference decides whether your blank name survives.

  • U+2800 BRAILLE PATTERN BLANK is classified as a symbol. It is not default-ignorable and it has no decomposition, so normalisation leaves it alone. That is what makes it the sturdiest option in practice.
  • U+3164 HANGUL FILLER is classified as a letter, it carries the Other_Default_Ignorable property, and it has a compatibility decomposition. Any system that runs NFKC normalisation collapses it — which is exactly why blank names built from it work in one app and vanish in the next.

Two different mechanisms, two different failure modes. Merging them into one “invisible character” tip is the most common mistake in this topic.

What the game’s own rules say about names

Style is half of choosing a name; the other half is not losing it.

  • An inappropriate nickname or clan name in BGMI carries a 90-day penalty — three times the 30-day maximum used on international PUBG Mobile.
  • On PUBG Mobile, an offending name is renamed automatically, with no warning. The first sign of a problem is usually the name already being gone.
  • Changing a nickname needs a Rename Card, one per day, and the first card is granted free at Level 10. That is the real cost of getting a name wrong.

These are the publishers’ rules — PUBG Mobile and BGMI are operated by KRAFTON, Inc., with Battlegrounds Mobile India launched on 2 July 2021 — and they can change without telling us.

The number we refuse to repeat

Search the web for a PUBG Mobile name limit and you will be told, everywhere and confidently, that it is 14 characters. We are not going to print that as a fact, because KRAFTON has never published it. Every site repeating the number is repeating another site.

What we can honestly do is different: type into the box ourselves, say what happened, and date it. When you see a length figure on this site, it will be phrased as a test result with a date — not as a rule handed down by the publisher — and where we have not tested, the page will say so instead of borrowing someone else’s number.

What we cannot do

  • We do not run the game. PUBGSymbol is an independent fan-made tool with no connection to KRAFTON, no access to any account system and no influence over any in-game decision.
  • We cannot recover accounts, lift bans or reverse a forced rename. Those go to the game’s own support.
  • We cannot reserve a name. Anything here can be copied by anyone; a name is not exclusive to whoever generated it first.
  • We will never ask for your login. No password, no OTP, no character ID, no payment. If a message claims to be us and asks for any of that, it is not.

Corrections and contact

One address, read by the people who write the pages: [email protected]. The Contact page says exactly what to include so we can act on the first reply.

Corrections are welcome and we prefer them blunt. If a symbol we listed is refused by the rename box, tell us the exact string and where it failed — we retest, fix the page and move its updated date. We do not delete a wrong claim quietly and pretend it was never there.
